Designed by renowned architect MW Haenke and built circa 1912. This is an outstanding example of federation architecture. The decorative fret work embellishing the front and side verandahs is distinctly art nouveau and most of the doors and windows with their fittings are original.

Prominent in its position and beautifully centered on 1456 square metres this magnificent home enjoys sweeping views over Queens Park.

The land was subdivided from a large estate, called the Cintra Estate, in 1911. In that year, MW Haenke prepared plans for a house on this site for James Stuart Gall. The Housing style of the period from 1900 to 1914 was known as Federation and the variety of Federation style seen in Meiringen is the Bungalow, with one roof enveloping the whole house instead of a stepped-down roof over the verandas.

This era is noted for the decorative woodwork used both externally and internally. The balustrading is wooden broomsticks instead of the ornate cast iron of the previous period. Around the verandas is Art Nouveau decoration, seen in the arches and curves. The same arches are used in the main rooms. The two gables on the roof, one facing the front and the other facing north, also show the same features and are purely decorative. Three bay windows are also a feature of the house.

From the lead-light and cedar entry, a wide hall opens to three large bedrooms, two with bay windows adorned with attractive fretwork.

The southern verandah has been enclosed and has glorious views and access to a bathroom servicing two bedrooms. The formal living area also has a bay window and access to the wide northern verandah.

A second very comfortable living area features pressed metal ceilings, double hung silky oak windows access to the second bathroom and French doors to a welcoming easterly deck. Enjoy park views whilst preparing meals in the very functional kitchen with breakfast bar and large pantry.

A fourth bedroom or study is located on the north-east corner of the house. An upstairs laundry is conveniently situated near the six back steps.

There is a lockup timber shed and legal height under the front of the house.

Conveniently located in walking distance to schools, rail, CBD, Limestone Park and of course Queens park. The discerning buyer will recognize the golden opportunity of acquiring such an outstanding property. Current owners reluctantly moving on after 43 years.
